LRT Jakarta Track Over Major Toll Road Now Linked

Jakarta LRT Phase 1B reached a 100% connection at its most critical point on January 9, bridging the Ir Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road. The 120-meter girder installation was completed despite the heavy traffic below, as engineers avoided a total road shutdown.

The successful link is a major breakthrough for the strategic rail line connecting Velodrome to Manggarai.

Spanning 120 meters over an active highway, this critical connection was made without a single total road shutdown.

By using the 'balanced cantilever' method—building step-by-step from both sides—crews maintained structural accuracy and kept traffic moving on the busy toll road throughout construction.

PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) or Jakpro's Technical and Development Director, Dian Takdir said, the breakthrough connection officially joins Jakarta’s elevated LRT tracks from Kelapa Gading to Jalan Pramuka. This physical link now unites North, East, and Central Jakarta through an integrated elevated rail network, marking a pivotal moment for citywide connectivity

"Crossing the Ir Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road was a key milestone for the LRT Phase 1B project. We are glad to see the connection completed on schedule,” he stated, Tuesday (1/13).

He added the successful link over the Ir Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road provides critical momentum as the project enters its final construction stages.

"This project is a key pillar of the administration's mission to establish Jakarta as a world-class global city," he added.
